Development of scientific collaboration between Iran University of Medical Sciences and Ghalib University of Herat
On Monday, April 26, 2021, a joint scientific meeting of the officials of Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) and Ghalib University of Herat was held via video conference and an agreement on scientific cooperation was signed.

Dr. Koohpayehzadeh, the President of Iran University of Medical Sciences stated in the meeting that Iran University of Medical Sciences has made many efforts towards internationalization, especially with neighboring countries, and we are proud to establish our joint scientific cooperation with Ghalib University of Herat, which is one of the most successful universities in Afghanistan.

Then Dr. Rahyab, the President of Ghalib University of Herat provided an overview of activities at Ghalib University as one of the most prestigious universities in Afghanistan and added that, "We would like to work closely with our counterparts to conduct scientific exchanges, hold seminars and conferences, organize workshops as well as training courses and set up research centers."

Later in the session educational, research and technology issues were discussed and it was decided that the representatives from the two universities should formulate and follow up on the operational plan of the memorandum of understanding between the two institutions as soon as possible.
